Road Sprinkler Fitters U.A. Local Union No. 669 Endorses Karl Dean for Governor, Calls Him a “Strong Advocate” for Tennessee’s Working Families
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Sept. 28, 2017) — Today, the Road Sprinkler Fitters U.A. Local Union No. 669 announced its endorsement of gubernatorial candidate Karl Dean. Out of a field of declared candidates, the Sprinkler Fitters decided Dean would best represent Tennessee’s working families in the Governor’s Office.
Today’s announcement comes as Dean visits his 65th county campaigning across Tennessee as part of his “Talking Jobs and Family” tour to highlight the issues he believes matter most to working families including good jobs, public schools, and healthcare.
“Sprinkler Fitters play a critical role in public fire prevention and safety. In addition, their job training and apprenticeship programs provide much-needed opportunity for people in need of reliable, well-paying jobs. I am proud to have Local Union 669 Road Sprinkler Fitters’ support,” Dean said.
Mark Davis, Marketing Representative for Road Sprinkler Fitters U.A. Local Union No. 669, said: “Sprinkler Fitters Local 669 wholeheartedly endorses Karl Dean for Governor. We believe Mayor Dean will be a strong advocate for the hard-working, blue-collar families of Tennessee, and our members look forward to supporting his campaign efforts.”
Sprinkler Fitters oversee the installation of fire protection systems, including underground supply piping, which is connected to an integrated overhead piping system for suppression of fire.
This is the second public endorsement announcement for the Dean campaign. Last week, Dean was endorsed by former Congressman Lincoln Davis.
